so reduce me, seduce me, dress me up in Stussy…
Massive Attack is the bomb. And I’m sitting here on a Friday night doing absolutely nothing except typing and breathing (important, that last one). And enjoying it.
Interminable day. I’m phasing out GNC as I phase into the UNC job. Worked at UNC for about an hour and a half this morning before I had to commute to Cary and open the store. The hour and a half went quite well, especially after the crash course in Quark I gave myself last night. Even if it didn’t matter much today, it gave me a welcome infusion of confidence as I puttered around setting up my office and asking Alana questions about this and that. My supervisor, Betty, came in and asked me what kind of mouse I wanted her to order for me (I don’t do trackballs). She reminded me to bring in my SS card next week so we could go through the formalities of bringing me on board, and as she was leaving, she mentioned offhand that she was just going to pay me $2 an hour even more than I had requested on Monday, since that’s what the other freelancers in the office were making. She asked me if that was alright. Well, gee…
I’m motivated. I’m psyched. And then some. This is such a great opportunity. It’s all happening. Big change from last night, eh? Maybe it’s because I’m on the upside of the weekend.
– I’ve made a decision, I’m gonna live in Morocco for one year. I need a new crowd. Do you wanna come?
– Yes! Yeah.
– Are you sure?
– Ask me again.
– Do you wanna come?
– Yes! Yes.

dress you up in Stussy?
I remember when that was ‘in’ (like, 10 years ago) ;)
hehe, so when will you start working more full-time-ish? Maybe we can do lunch on campus at some point (they should be getting bubble tea back at the grind sooner or later).
I wish I had an office (or a job).
Yeah… The comings and goings of whatever clothes were in style that particular month have always kind of passed me by, but I remember those days.
I’ll be “full-time-ish” on the 14th. Not soon enough if you ask me, but I’m trying to be as fair as I can to all parties involved. About lunch–I’d like that. Speaking of lunches, ours a couple of Saturdays ago may well have got me the job :o) At the end of the interview, Alana said, “Okay, we’re almost done, but we have one question we ask every interviewee: What’s your favorite place to eat lunch?” I said, “Well, last Saturday I was introduced to Carrburrito,” and I went into a little detail about my “European dining experience…” Both Alana and Betty in unison said, “Ahhh… Mexican.” Turns out the office goes out to lunch every Monday at a Mexican place. It’s their “Mexican Mondays.” So… Yeah. Probably didn’t have too much bearing on the success of the interview, but thanks :o)
Party details TBA, also :o)
