Subtly, the rest of the cacophony fades away, leaving orchestral strains bleeding through one another. They avenge the pristine architecture of the song, buried under the remains of drums and guitars, overstating the message. Such a simple message, really. It is one of existing, appreciating with the knowledge that only a first glance can gather, the tenets which bind our hearts the moment our fleeting eyes linger upon the features of someone we recognize. I may not have even seen her before, but my heart proclaims a kinship and clings fastidiously against all odds. Some call it love at first sight, some know better, and their intuitive knowledge testifies to the nature of their claim: They just know.
We may drift apart. There are no givens in the life we have chosen except those we cling to by faith, a faith that speaks of those givens by its very presence, since we could not have it apart from the hope and the promises to which we hold unswervingly. I accept my destiny again with open arms, for all its worldly uncertainty to pour down upon me. But I remain wrapped in the warmth of His grace, His provision, the faithfulness from which faithfulness derives its meaning. There is no other way besides this.
And one bright morning, I may fall in love…
