quick note

Published on April 10, 2006

Passed my private pilot recheck today! I am officially a pilot now. Praise Him for the beautiful, relatively smooth day and for giving me the skill to do this. Everything was right on the money. Skyhawk 99J treated me very well, even with the sticky throttle and whistling air vents. In the area with a free Saturday afternoon? I can give you a ride.

    that’s really cool. congrats!

my dad used to take me to a small airport and we’d take a short flight in a twin engine. he wasn’t the pilot! i think it was like $25 or so for oh, 10 minutes i think…
it was neat. i was terrified the first time, but i remember it so well…i’d like to do it again sometime.

    Congrats Matt!!!

  3. Congrats! I can be in town…as long as you have little paper bags :o) Just kidding, I’m sure you’re a great pilot. I do find it interesting that you’re now a licenced pilot and just became licenced motorcyclist…What are Rachel and Diane thinking now…

$25 for 10 minutes sounds about right…especially for a multiengine plane.

    And thanks!

Hey now… The turbulence of a flight has little to do with me–other than picking a day and time when the air will be smooth :) But all the planes are “equipped” with airsickness bags.

And yeah…the fact that they’re not both running for the hills at this point is a good sign, I think.

    Thanks D.

    Hope you enjoyed 99J

I assume you’re talking about N2099J at McAir aviation. I have owned that plane now for more than 3 years and have loved flying it and sharing it with others. I hope you’ve had fun flying it. – Dan Larson

It was actually N9899J, flown (at the time, and I assume still) by Missionary Aviation Institute in Mocksville, NC. And for what it’s worth, yes, I did enjoy it very much :) Cheers.
