I think there’s something supernatural going on with the Holloways’ cars. Both times that I visited their house to fix things on the vehicles, first a headlight on their Mercedes that was definitely out and yesterday a transmission leak on their minivan–the problems had completely gone away. A few weeks ago I showed up, headlight in hand for the replacement job, and never got the chance, since the headlight worked faultlessly. And yesterday, after diagnosing a rather problematic transmission leak, the underside of the engine was bone dry when I shined the shoplight around last night. Took it for a test drive and it performed great, no missed shifts, no hesitation. I’m still going to take the car to my favorite little transmission shop tomorrow to have it scoped out by some pros, but in the meantime… Yeah. Amazing stuff.

What’s everybody doing for Thanksgiving? Our family is driving just down the road to my grandmother’s place in Raleigh, after she insisted on cooking this year, something that most are of the opinion is a very bad idea, but what Gran wants Gran gets, most of the time at least. It’ll be a relatively small shindig compared to most years when my parents’ house is packed out with friends and relatives. I think my mom is going to cook a good bit of the meal, and good thing too, since’s long since surpassed Gran’s cooking ability. Should be fun.

What’s your favorite kind of pie?

My family (which now includes Wesley’s wife) is driving up to Alexandria, about three hours from here. Out in the sticks. My grandfather’s girlfriend (yes, girlfriend) is cooking us all dinner. She’s a fantastic cook, way better then anyone I know (other than my late grandmother).

    I just used excessive parentheses.

Hope you’re having a lovely Monday.

Hmm. I’m not sure I have a favorite pie. I’ll have to get back to you on that one…

I always abuse the privilege of parenthetical expression, so no worries.

It’s been mind-numbingly slow…but some old “office friends” are back in town for Thanksgiving, so we all ate out for lunch. That was fun.

What time did you end up going to sleep last night?

Okay, well pie _ cake. (fill in with appropriate symbol)

Where did y’all eat? I met my mum for lunch.

I went to sleep at 3. Not too bad.

Chocolate cake, I suppose. I know it sounds boring but I’m not much of a dessert connoisseur. And I don’t really do pies, either. I think I was always more interested in the turkey and mashed potatoes…

We went to Monterrey (Mexican place). We were there for a good hour and a half…they started giving us looks like they wanted to reclaim the table, so we left.

3 isn’t bad; you’re right. How do you feel today compared to yesterday?

    tiramisu > everything else.

Glad to hear you had a good time. I have a hard time liking Mexican food. It’s just… not my best friend.

Today I feel… I don’t know. Curious as to why I just got two letters from some woman’s insurance company about her losses? Also I just worked and I should head to bed.

How do you feel compared to the end of taste?

oh man, sorry for all these edits. I can’t type.
