Wow, that was great. That was exactly what I needed. An evening with friends watching a great movie. Amazing movie, really (I hesitate to use the word “incredible,” because, well, you know…). I can’t really find a weak point other than a plot structure that’s a little convoluted, but even that is excusable in the interests of differentiating the movie from the myriad of superhero pictures out there. Go see it. It’s clever; the humor is timed perfectly (the bit about the capes had me in stitches), and the–Just see it.
I got a little time beforehand to talk to Aaron at Inside Out (where he works), and it was great just to tell him about my week a little bit and unload some of what’s been going on. I didn’t even have to get into any exhaustive insights about the events that transpired–just recalling what happened was enough.
I feel a lot better. It’s going to be a great weekend.
I wish I would have seen The Incredibles instead of I Heart Huckabees. While the latter was inarguably mentally stimulating, films that require such thought processes shouldn’t be viewed while running on a mere two hours of sleep.
