OD on politicks

Published on November 3, 2004

I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but I need a drink. Or a hug. Or a good run. Or maybe all three? But especially the hug; I honestly can’t remember the last time I received one from somebody who wasn’t, like, legally obligated to hug me back (i.e. parents)…

Of course, I never thought I’d hear myself say, watching Monday Night Football last week, that I missed baseball, the sport that used to bore me out of my mind. But things change. Not like I’m going to be wasting untold hours at the mercy of the television, but I do have a newfound appreciation for the subtleties of the game after last week. I will say that.

I’ve been wound up so tight the past few days… My head feels like it’s in a vise and I got really light-headed eating dinner with the theology group earlier this evening. I think it was something to do with the hummus + gyro I had for lunch.

Time to head home (yes, I’m still at work) and embark on that run. Yeah.

    hope you get enveloped soon.

    hugs are medicine.

i kept a running tally in undergrad one semester of how long i’d gone without basic human contact (even someone taking my arm or squeezing my shoulder). it went into months. not a happy experience! :-/

Thanks Lindsey. I was hoping so too (referring to your subject line), but my roommates and I aren’t the most cuddly bunch (really the only people around last night in the temporal vicinity of that comment), so I think I’m just going to have to stick it out a while longer.

I’m sorry I haven’t gotten your mix cd to you. I’ve made the track listing, but it’s been challenging of late to commandeer Donald’s computer and cd burner. I promise it’ll be in your hands soon :)
