oh I want to fly,
fly forward into the light…
be alive, to come alive
I remember sunny mornings in particular, the way the light was so crisp and the shadows were such clear cutouts of their objects. The edge between light and dark bisected my vision as I squinted my eyes in the morning light, and I turned around to feel the disparity of temperature between those things illuminated by the breaking sun, and those still in the cold darkness of the shade.
I can’t express things in words this morning. I rested my head in both my hands, tilted to the side, stared into space for a minute or two and just breathed, every exhale making its presence felt. I need to focus; I need to concentrate; I need to move and be productive, yes. Mind over matter.

you should paint
I played Befriended for my kids at naptime today… It was nice.
Hope you’re having a good Monday.
I should at least break out the charcoal and newsprint again and do some drawings. Love that stuff–the connection between artist and medium is so…immediate.
Befriended would be an excellent nap album. I bought The Richest Man in Babylon by the Thievery Corporation a couple of nights ago at B&N (paid too much). May not be good nap music, but it’s good everything-else music–driving, bumming around, entertaining guests, etc… Thumbs up.
Sorry the response is so late! Hope you’re having a stellar Thursday :o)
Oh! And the new TGS is here.
I go through sheets and sheets of watercolor paper. Newsprint would be a nice change. But yes, you really should :)
That Thievery Corporation album is really good. I haven’t listened to them much since last summer, but I suppose I should again now… they’re featured on the Garden State soundtrack, but I’m pretty sure I’ve told you that at least once. :)
And late responses are not a problem; I don’t really expect responses at all. Hope you have a good weekend!
Wow, that wave of babies was amazing. THANK YOU!
