Lovely outside–and warmer. I think this is as close as I get to being a morning person… Breathing deeply, clear-eyed, longing for the outdoors even though it’s still midwinter. My disposition mirrors the atmosphere today; I’m sunny, clear, and already looking torward warmer months…

Bunch of things to do at the office, but nothing absolutely critical bearing down on me. I need to work on the UNC maps webpage, the Bryan Fellowship posters, the CERT magnets, and a business card or two… I’ll take care of it all by the end of the day.

Thinking about taking a day off to go skiing next week. Aaron and I were going to go on MLK day, but holiday rates are in effect that weekend, which means a lift ticket alone would be somewhere on the order of $60, mighty steep. We’ll probably just make a day trip of it, to a “lesser” resort, but at least it’s skiing. Now if I could only convince Aaron to appreciate other aspects of skiing besides racing down the hill every time, I think the outing would be complete. His competitive juices get flowing every time he surveys the slope from the top of the hill, and although the record still stands 2-1 in my favor as far as races won and lost, I still prefer the satisfaction of finesse-ing it down the hill, so to speak, in other words, carving perfect turns, keeping skis parallel, and so on. It’s fun either way… But I prefer a respite from the adrenaline-fueled tucks down the hill at ticketable speeds.

nobody knows, darling
nobody knows how they are loved

let’s get out of the car with open arms not wait to be embraced Sunny Monday.
