Wearing my olive sweater that I picked up from the thrift shop on Saturday. It’s wool so I need to wash it with some Woolite in the sink, so it still smells just the faintest bit musty, but not unpleasantly so. Just…like my old accordion case used to smell (and probably still does, come to think of it). So much to do, and at the same time nothing to do… Nothing that I want to do except for a few things, really, most of which involving driving or flying for significant distances.<\/p>\n
Leslie asked me yesterday out of the blue where I would go if I could travel anywhere in the United States to relax. I thought for a minute and answered Tillamook, on the Oregon coast. My family has missionary friends who live in Portland, about a hour from there, and they actually own a little beach cottage within easy walking distance of the seaside. We visited them a number of years ago and stayed at the cottage with them for a day or two. The sand on the beach stretches for a mile before it encounters the ocean, at low tide, and I remember the bonfire on the sand, sitting and watching every moment of the sunset in the west, upon the horizon, the warm wind whipping through our hair, just existing. I don’t think I’ve been many places more idyllic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Prayers for Emily… I’m here. Yeah…here.
