So unprotected, so unaware… As the anticipation of the storm was mounting last night and I was out on my 11 o’clock run, I couldn’t help thinking of the trees and the wildlife, standing in the midst of the landscape the same as they had always done, oblivious to the storm that was bearing down on them. But that’s the way it happens.

I had some rather exotic breakfast this morning after my dash out the door to the car: Carribean rainwater peanut butter muffins. Quite a delicacy, I’m told, though admittedly they tasted the same as the breakfast all the other mornings. The morning commute itself, however, was seasoned with a bit of annoyance from the wipers in the Plymouth POS I’m driving until I fix my car–they didn’t have an intermittent setting, and they made the most grating squeak as the blade screeched across the windshield when I turned them on.

In any case, the University’s closing in about 45 minutes, so I’ll head home then and catch up on some sleep, perhaps, or maybe watch a movie. Depends if the power goes out or not, I suppose. Regardless, as much as I enjoy his company, eventful weather like this, or just events in general makes me wish more poignantly that I had someone besides Donald to experience them with. All in good and perfect time, right? Tell it to me again.

EDIT: All this ruckus outside makes me want to listen to a certain Björk song… “Isobel… my name’s Isobel…” Granted, the name is spelled differently, but it still could work, and…err…nevermind.

Wind is whipping around the News Services building… The trees just outside the window are bending wildly, branches flailing about in the gusts.
