Sleepy, rainy day. The wind has been blowing hard. Every few seconds I’ll hear a rustle from the palm leaves outside. The ocean is beautiful in the cold rain, grey-eyed and windswept. I took a nap this afternoon, a long nap that very nearly made me miss the second church service this evening. Wellington Boone spoke, a Promise Keepers regular who, if you’ve ever heard him, you know, has an incredible anointing. He speaks words that spur congregations to action and men and women to become people of character and significance. Not just successful, but significant in their own spheres of influence. It was amazing. I have been so blessed today, first by the sermon this morning, and then by the service this evening. I heard Him speak to me this evening through the sermon about one of the reasons I’m here. He said, via an illustration that Bishop Boone was making, that I am here to learn to steward my possessions, to learn to handle my giftings and my finances in light of His glory, so He can entrust me with more. It was clear, and direct, and very encouraging. There is so much I want to do… But I need to pray, and be disciplined. Yes, that’s the key.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
