The previously ironclad bifurcation between work and home life has opened momentarily. But it’ll close again soon enough. And I’ll display my handiwork, but not before I resolve compatibility issues with a certain browser, one that I’m sure many (most?) of you use: Internet Explorer. A brief troll of forums and how-to sites will clue you in on how much it’s reviled by Web designers, and should be reviled by users for its sieve-like security. If you use it for the bulk of your browsing, you really should upgrade to Firefox, Opera or Konqueror.

I’ve been teaching Sunday school the past four Sundays. I was given carte blanche on a topic, and I deliberated for a while before settling on defending your faith and apologetics. I wanted to show people the necessity, especially these days, of knowing how to defending what you believe, and having answers for questions people have about the cultural events they encounter. Also, I wanted to give folks an introduction to some of the core beliefs of major worldviews, and show they how to put it all into a meaningful system. I hope I did the subject justice in an understandable way.

Admittedly, this past Sunday was difficult. I had decided the week before to do a sort of Q&A; similar to those which take place at worldview and apologetics conferences, where the keynote speakers will take the stage together and field pre-screened questions from attendees. Not having the intellectual resources of an R.C. Sproul or a Ravi Zacharias, I decided to have people write down their questions on slips of paper so that Diane and I could have a week to research answers. This past Sunday was then devoted entirely to our answers to questions people posed. The questions could have been about anything Bible- or worldview-related. We received more than I thought we would, and Diane and I had a lot of fun researching and discussing answers over the course of the week. When it came time to answer then in class, though, my presentation style left a lot of be desired. I don’t know whether it was due to the structure of that particular class, being more of a back-and-forth dialogue, or whether it was just something in the air, but I was very disappointed in my delivery that day. However, the feedback about that lesson and especially the four-week series in general has been very positive, so Diane and I hope and pray people will be motivated to think about, know and understand Christianity, and in so doing glorify the One in Whose image they are created.

I’ve been all but sucked into the world of HTML and CSS Web design here at work… I’m putting together a prospective website for our company, and it’s reached the point where I actually spend time (just a little time, mind you) in the evenings and on the weekends tweaking the design.
