I remember being little and going to Circuit City with my dad and brothers, and there being something really exciting about it.  Maybe it was the name: &#8220;Circuit City.&#8221;  It sounded like something out of a sci-fi movie, complete with X-wing fighters and photon torpedoes.  Or maybe it had something to do with the sensory overload that assaulted me as soon as I walked in the door.  There weren&#8217;t many stores at the time that had a similar effect, and I wasn&#8217;t yet jaded enough to begin to resent the intrusion; I went with the flow, and I remember thinking it was just really cool.  And while most of us could see their demise coming&#8211;the store in our area is particularly shoddy, and I much prefer the local Best Buy&#8211;I&#8217;ll always have fond memories of trips to Circuit City with Dad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kind of a sad day.
