They&#8217;re longtime friends of mine (Donald and Stephen and I were flatmates back in the day) and it was great to see them again and catch up.  We ate at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bluecorn-tosca.com\/tr_home.asp\">Tosca Restaurant<\/a> in downtown Durham, a new-ish Italian restaurant, privately-owned and distinctively decorated.  The table, food, atmosphere, music and company were just perfect and we had a great time.  My parents babysat Luke and Pen and we were grateful for that too.  It was nice to be able to go out as a couple on New Year&#8217;s Eve for a little bit, even if it wasn&#8217;t just the two of us, which kinds of dates we definitely need more of.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing profound or pseudo-philosophical tonight.
