My dad came Friday afternoon to help me work on the house’s yard. We spent time together that evening, getting Krispy Kreme donuts and just talking, something we hadn’t done in a while. Saturday we made good progress on the house, although if you came by you’d hardly know, seeing as how it’s still quite a mess. We removed all the trees from around the house (I used the chainsaw extensively), got someone to come and grind the stumps for us, and spread quite a bit of mulch. As I said, it’s still a mess, but sometimes messes will be made so that the house will ultimately look cleaner and neater.<\/p>\n

Our honeymoon planning is in full swing. We’ll be staying in my aunt’s log cabin in Zirconia, NC (near Hendersonville). We’re planning a nice day and dinner at the Biltmore House<\/a> but not too much else. I hope to do some stargazing in the clear mountain night air and perhaps we’ll do some hiking, but above all the theme for event planning is flexibility. We’re very much looking forward to it. It’s difficult to simultaneously become close as a couple in the midst of wedding planning, house moving and little boy raising, as rewarding as those are. Time for the two of us alone is like gold. Ultimately, though, especially with regard to the honeymoon, the closer the two of us are the better it is for Luke and family life in general.<\/p>\n
