It was a good day. My stage check (test) in Flight II this morning went very well. I found Montgomery County Airport<\/a> on the first try (evidently only about half of the students do–the other 50% go tooling around the vicinity until they happen upon it). Granted, I was nearly on top of it when I did<\/i> spot it, so I had a few thousand feet to kill, but that’s relatively minor (although something to work on).<\/p>\n

David<\/a>‘s all moved in, though not totally moved into his room. In other words, all his stuff is stashed around the house in some capacity. The good news as far as filling the house is concerned is that he brings with him copious numbers of knick-knacks and framed pictures and posters, items the house had been sorely lacking. He and Harsha are hitting it off well; they’ve been in the kitchen chatting for the past hour or two.<\/p>\n

Only observation about the game last night (I will refrain from commenting on the officiating): From what I can tell, the key to the Rolling Stones’ appeal seems to be the fact that everybody knows their songs and can sing along. This also seems to be the key to Jimmy Buffett’s appeal (other than the whole going-to-the-concert-to-get-plastered thing).<\/p>\n

Crappy project for Design Fundamentals, first semester studio at NCSU. It’s supposed to be a visual representation of my design process. I threw it together from found objects at around 4 a.m. The idea was to show how many possible alternatives (the grey protrusions at the base) come and go and don’t result in a product. The design progresses in an upward direction, one alternative finally becoming finished product.<\/p>\n

The original Gazette<\/a> crew (minus Gary, the managing editor): Scott, myself and Susan. Susan and I still keep in touch. We became great friends over the course of the two and a half years I was there. So much fun.<\/p>\n
