A bit of a sore throat today. I can’t yet tell whether it’s an isolated thing or the beginning of another illness. I hope very much it’s the former. It doesn’t slow me down too much, and the chicken noodle soup at Panera for lunch hit the spot. I should still find some echinacea.<\/p>\n
Diane and I are doing very well. Friday evening we ate dinner at a local cafe, then segued over to B&N where we spent the rest of the evening discussing Shel Silverstein, John Ashbery, Robert Creeley and Jack Kerouac (among others). There was a natural exchange, a conversational give and take that just felt…perfect. I spent most of Saturday with her and Luke and her family and had a grand time. I diagnosed her car door difficulty (window regulator broken) and she cooked a delicious chicken parmesan dinner, after which we watched The Village<\/i> and The Sixth Sense<\/i>, neither of which I’d seen. The learning curve is still steep, but I’m committed and optimistic.<\/p>\n
Had my final stage check (test\/exam) in Flight II last Friday. I did most things very well, a few things poorly, but after the debrief this morning feel very good about my aptitude and progress. If the weather holds, a few more practice flights and I’ll have my private pilot license by the end of next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
