It’s a sexy little machine. Four times as fast as my old computer with a footprint not much larger than a sandwich on the desk. This thing flies. So pleasing. So elegant and stable an interface. So perfect a design with its proportions and stainless steel outer “ring.”<\/p>\n
I bought a firewire cable so I could easily transfer all my files from the old machine to the new. OS X has a nifty capability in that all I have to do is hook the cable to the two computers, boot one, then boot the other while holding down the “T” key, and the second computer automatically becomes a 400Mbps “slave” hard drive. Piece o’ cake.<\/p>\n
My old machine was so ancient the CD-ROM didn’t even play DVDs or burn CDs. The new one does, and I’m very much looking forward to taking advantage of the ability to watch movies while sitting on my bed, adjacent to the computer desk.<\/p>\n
This is such a breath of fresh air.<\/p>\n
Second XC tomorrow morning, wind and weather willing. Flying to Asheboro<\/a>, Burlington<\/a> then back home. They’re both class E airports so flight in and out of the airports should be easier, but I’m flying through Greensboro class C airspace, so that should be interesting. It’s not the navigation I worry about but the communications. Fortunately my instructor seems to be of the notion that navigation is more important, so he’s quick to help if I don’t know exactly what to say next over the radio.
