I finally got in touch with my flight instructor today, just to catch up after the break and possibly schedule a night flight lesson or two before the new semester starts up.  We had a long conversation before I left for break a month ago, during which I asked him whether we&#8217;d have the same instructor (there are four) for Flight II.  He said we would&#8211;developing a rapport with your instructor during the early phases of training helps fill in the gaps in communication and can build confidence.  As I learned today, though, Mr. Hahn (my instructor) accepted the position of head instructor at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberty.edu\/academics\/index.cfm?pid=147\">Liberty University&#8217;s<\/a> aviation program, a few hours down the road in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Apparently they made him a good offer, and considering the college&#8217;s quasi-abandonment of the missionary aviation program here, it&#8217;s completely understandable that he accepted.  He&#8217;ll be moving up into a program its parent college supports wholeheartedly, among many other advantages.  I&#8217;d have done the same in his place, but from where I stand now, not quite at the base of the mountain of training ahead, I&#8217;d be lying if I said I didn&#8217;t feel like people are jumping ship from the program left and right.  At least it didn&#8217;t happen mid-semester.  So I&#8217;ll have another instructor in a week, most likely Mr. Wing (who I like very much).
