The nap didn’t help much. Weird dreams, though, as they usually are during naps of any length. I don’t remember them, as usual.

Went to my younger brother David’s high school soccer game earlier this evening and experienced the social carnival that is a high school sporting event, something I was never privy to, having been home-schooled during that academic period. I think a good rebuttal of the notion that men and women are biologically similar save a few anatomical differences would be the scene at the game. The girls cluster in groups and giggle and whisper, a bit dressed up and darty-eyed; the guys posture in manly ways, and joke loudly in between hollers at the referees. In any event, they won the game 1-0 after scoring early on and holding their opponents off successfully. They really won the game in every respect, playing solid, organized, strategical soccer where the other team just poked the ball around in comparison. David has a slew of admirers in the crowd as well. The whole spectacle is entertaining to watch :o)

My dad and I discussed what to do with the (once again) defunct Taurus earlier this week, and decided that every time I fix something, I end up breaking another component in the process, and it ends up costing us more money. So rather than chance it again, we took the car to the transmission shop. It caused a bit of a dent in my pride as a mechanic, but I suppose knowing one’s limitations isn’t something that can be faulted, right? I saved myself a lot of aggavation and scraped knuckles, too. I suppose it’s all for the best. I have other battles to fight this semester.
