What a hellish week, and it’s only Wednesday… Betty and I are the only two designers here this week, and we normally have five, and that’s understaffed; Scott is breathing down my neck about a University Relations webpage; I have a insert for the Gazette due tomorrow that I haven’t started on, my School of Public health clients are being ridiculously anal about paper weights for their brochure (they want 100 pound text, same as last year’s, not 80 pound like I had spec-ed, so I’m having to reprint the whole batch of 3000 at our cost), among many, many, various and sundry other things…
I think I blew a fuse yesterday afternoon. I had been going full bore all day until about 6, and then it was like I just couldn’t think about anything design-related anymore, like running into a mental brick wall. I wandered around the office for about five minutes until I realized what was happening, somehow drove home, ate the rest of my calzone, some pita and hummus, and a powerbar, watched the last few minutes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which I had wanted to do on Sunday night, felt sleepy, so I went to take a nap around 8, and didn’t wake up until 7:15 this morning. So I’m alert; that much I can lay claim to. At least I have Friday off.
It’s pouring this morning. I had rainwater toast for breakfast, since I eat it on the way to work, and I don’t have an umbrella, so I carried the plate out to the car in the rain. Didn’t seem to adversely affect the peanut butter spread.
Still raining, a deluge from the eaves…
