warmer than
any summer noon in june
it’s the comfort in
the moment right before you fall asleep
watch my eyes; I’m speechless otherwise
inside I’m tongue-tied by something sweet and real

The air is clear today. The blue sky sends me a crystalline wink through the window panes, beckoning me again across the warm leaves. It’s a simple day. Thoughts come and go, floating, never resting on one strand but strolling with light footfalls across my mind. I want to nap in the green lawn. I want to experience that moment of utter contentment before my eyes close with an easy fall, sending my smile into graceful turns of flight, spiralling away into the sunlight.

The air is pure today. My body swells and diminishes in rhythm, breathing with the cool movement of a sloop across a placid lake. My eyes close. Peacefulness is my haven; my mind is held in Hands bigger than the day, more complete than the sky, and infinitely more gentle than even the processions of sleepy clouds.

The air is wonderful today. Just to think that these masterpieces exist is a testimony of love. Thank You.
