sweetness and light
In that moment it vaulted past
Any prior experience, wholly
Thundering, pealing out
Swinging carillon,
A reckless cacophony
Tripping over the meager rooftops.
Oh! It shames all prior resolutions
And lifts me into colours unknown.
I ran here. I RAN—
As swiftly as my heart swelled,
Outstripping the sound.
Do not despise this, he said,
As he fumbled with the lock.
