It’s late.
Someone else got the Sanford job I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago. They hired somebody that knew the interviewer, and someone who had Caterpillar experience. It’s all about who you know… *sigh*
I’m not as bummed out as I could be, though. David’s senior night soccer game was earlier this evening, and I made posters for both coaches composed of a collage of photos of all the seniors (“action shots”). It went over really well, which I was happy to see, something that only reaffirmed the sneaky suspicion that I may have a gift for this graphic design stuff. Maybe my standards aren’t high enough, or maybe they’re just right? I’ve never drawn a sketch in an industrial design setting that I’ve been really satisfied with, and neither am I totally secure in these 2D designs I put together, but I’m a lot more pleased with the way the graphic stuff turns out, which gives me confidence, which in turn leads to better designs and a motivation to press forward in my acquisition of knowledge. I can make stuff look good.
