We went to the trunk-or-treat at Centergrove again this year for Halloween. We hadn’t been since 2007, when Penelope was tiny and wearing her “I Love My Mummy” suit and fell asleep on Grandma.

This year it was a lot of fun. Grandpa and Nana came up and participated, and we loved that they were there. Inspired partly by his recent field trip to a Clemmons fire station, Luke dressed up as a fireman, and Penelope was an angel, complete with robe (made by Grandma), wings and halo. She was absolutely lovely. Luke had a good time investigating the fire truck that showed up, and Pen went on an inflatable slide-type thing, which she greatly enjoyed. We ate chicken stew and chili and lined up for the trunk or treat around 6:30. The kids got a decent amount of candy (not too much) but by the end they were obviously dazed by the sights, sounds and general commotion. We took them back home and they conked out immediately.

Happy birthday to Paul!
