Luke has had pinkeye yesterday and today. Poor guy. He’s been taking more and more supplements and medications lately to stave off various illnesses and allergies, and I feel bad for him. He soldiers through it all, though. One of the positive aspects of not being very self-aware is his ability to plow through illness without moping around too much, although he does get reasonably clingy and weepy. Pray for him.

The ImageWorks Christmas party was last Saturday night. My parents came into town to visit and to babysit Luke and Pen while Diane and I went. I think it was the most lavish party I’ve ever been to, with dinner, live music, an open bar, expensive door prizes and a roving magician, among other things. To top it all, management decided to make it a casino night, so there were blackjack tables, roulette and poker as well. We had a great time. Seating for the dinner was apparently random (i.e. they didn’t seat departments together), and we ended up sitting next to the president of the company, Don, and his wife. We talked about politics and worldview, always a safe subject for us but risky at dinner parties. Fortunately Don shares many of our convictions and political stances, which not only smoothed out the conversation, but also endeared the company to us even more, having a man with such persuasions at the top.
