kid notes
1. I think I can safely claim my son is the only 4-year-old ever to ask, "Daddy, what’s Kyrgyzstan in French?" Yep, I’ve had that question. Multiple times. And we practice the alphabet in sign language every night before he goes to sleep. It’s nerd-errific. :)
2. Penelope is "running" now, though only in the loosest sense of the word, which doesn’t lessen the accomplishment a bit. She waddles around stiff-legged, usually when she’s holding something in her hands (the area of interest is not on the floor, which motivates her to stand up). Lately she’s been "running" from Mommy or Daddy to the bed and back, excited as she can be, smiling her two-toothy grin and squealing for all she’s worth. It’s a lot of fun.
