Greatly enjoying some Madeleine Peyroux on the playlist here at work today. So what if she channels Billie Holiday with every intonation? She’s another artist doing her best to stem the tide of ephemeral, vapid pop in favor of some more lasting, substantive, heck–tasteful. Besides which the music is just… Hmm, how should I put this? Valentine-ish? It’s worth a listen.
