the most incredible thing is i was able to fly throughout the whole dream by clutching a special card -- white with green stripes on it. and if you know anything about me, the ability to fly is not an underrated commodity in my mind since i have been fascinated by airplanes and birds and any- thing that embraces the freedom of the air ever since i can remember. i was conversing with some friends along the shore of a river. the river had a built-up bank with a white-bricked promenade and a railing, also white. the warm wind started blowing, and clouds congregated in the skies above us...deeply grey clouds, threatening black in some places...the al- most incandescent green of the leaves all around us whispered warnings with increasing urgency. the sky was completely overcast by this time, with a band of bright white between the fringes of the cloud cover and the horizon. suddenly, several funnel clouds began to descend out of the ceil- ing of grey. the one that caught my attention was dropping sideways for some reason and did not match the hue of the clouds like the others did, instead it was black and white -- it's difficult to explain. but after a while they all receeded back upwards again and a new thing began happening. a recess began to form in the cloud cover... a massive, swirling, rushing opening in the grey, and black was at the center. it was like observing a whirlpool of air in the sky. it must have been miles in diameter then a funnel cloud...more than that -- a cylinder cloud began to lower itself from the black hole overhead... a spinning maelstrom obliterating every- thing beneath it. i saw debris kicking up all around the base of it and an incredible lull of rushing water filled my ears. then suddenly it started moving towards us, annihilating all that separated... it drew closer, and closer, and with it the noise of destruction grew till it was deafening. then right before it would have caught us up in its winds, it dissapated, dissovled rapidly, and with it the clouds vanished as well, and in their place stood a massive tree with a speckled trunk reaching miles up into the sky. the tree had a canopy of leaves the size of the former sky-abyss; beautiful green leaves, all shimmering, sparkling the sunlight through like rain. the trunk was the most fascinating of all, though. the main trunk extended about halfway up into the canopy, then it split into two colossal branches, each about the size of the body of the tree, with lesser bran- ches shooting off of them. the smaller branches were bulging in the middle like a human muscle and the entire apparition looked like some titan gazing upwards, neck thrown back, with his arms spread wide.
