I could never start smoking. Not because I wouldn’t take to it, but because I’d like it too much. I already fancy the smell in small, isolated doses, and it’s exactly the sort of activity with the chops to become a staple of my existence, like hummus or Wikipedia or preferring to drink Coke out of an aluminum can. Can’t explain it any more rationally than that, just know that I can’t start doing it.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, re-pierce my ear, move to a Parisian suburb, get a subscription to Paris Match<\/i>, grow out my hair a little bit, develop a fondness for Gauloises and my Eurodork conversion is complete. Which I would actually like very much.<\/p>\n
Oh, I’m having surgery on my finger tomorrow, what joy is mine. Evidently I did a real bang-up job breaking this thing–two places and tore a ligament too. It’s the $350 deductible that’s the real shot, though. But at least that’s all<\/i> it is. And the procedure’s outpatient and (in theory) 45 minutes.
