I got a cell phone.<\/p>\n
I feel like such a sellout (from the standpoint of my own flimsy “principles,” mind you)… But it reached the point where it was a needless inconvenience not to have one. I was just tired of always having to think about where to find a phone whenever I was lost, or needed to reschedule, or tons of other little day-to-day things.<\/p>\n
I certainly don’t plan on being available all the time now. I got the most basic plan you could get, pretty much, so being available 24\/7 really isn’t a feasable option anyway.<\/p>\n
Let it be said: I am categorically not<\/i> a phone person. I don’t have a preternatural fascination with electronic gadgets and gizmos. I hate having an extra thing to carry around and to keep up with–I was happy with just the wallet and keys. And my conversational skills, marginal enough as it is, just go completely down the toilet whenever I’m on the phone.<\/p>\n
