I’m actually…not tired. And reasonably clear-headed. Who’d have thought enough sleep could make such a difference?<\/p>\n
Joel was over and he and John were playing PS2 when on a whim I laid down on the couch to be the peanut gallery. I should know better than to do this. Three hours later, around 1, I woke up, stepped over John, who was lying on the floor watching “Spin City,” muttered something about that couch being absolutely evil, to which he laughed. I closed the door to my room and crawled into bed for the rest of the night. Good sleep, although I had odd dreams about getting my hair cut by a stylist with some major life issues she had to deal with before she could begin with my hair, and for some reason Katie Holmes was there, alternately flipping through a magazine and then putting it down and speaking French to me. And the salon was in the same shopping center, possibly even the same exact location, as Visart near Eastgate over near where Wellspring (now Whole Foods Market) is.<\/p>\n
But the sleep was restful. David’s back in the office after having been in Costa Rica for a couple of months helping out with a Young Life camp down there. It’s good to see him again. I have to get my tennis racket restrung over lunch so Aaron and I can play again, and I need to stop by Carquest and pick up some of those rubber donut exhaust hangers for when the rest of my exhaust system for the Audi finally<\/i> comes in. I’ve not been impressed so far with the customer service of the company I bought the exhaust from.<\/p>\n
Followed Ashraf in his Miata home from work last night in the Audi. It’s a shame 54 east isn’t more twisty or we could have had some fun. I sent him an email when I got home about the encounter, and his response this morning said, among other things, “Older Audis stand out to an enthusiast,” communicating the fact that it was the car<\/i> that he recognized in his rear-view mirror, and not just the fact that it was my car<\/i>. Sounds silly, but that made me feel good. Means there’s someone else out there who sees the underlying coolness beneath the sedan exterior, enough to slow down and pull alongside, at least. I should have lunch with him within the next week or so. Great guy, and not just ’cause he thinks my car is cool :o)<\/p>\n
